Lori Musicant

Lori Musicant Kozubek is a Los Angeles-based music educator and freelance clarinetist. She currently teaches 3rd-5th graders wind and string instruments as an itinerant elementary music teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Lori has also directed the Wind Ensemble at Los Angeles Valley College since 2019.

 

Previously, Lori has directed band and orchestra programs at Van Nuys Middle School, John Muir Middle School (Burbank), and Olive Middle School (Baldwin Park). She has also been on faculty at Arrowbear Music Camp, Cazadero Music Camp, the Claremont Clarinet Festival, and the Los Angeles Youth Orchestra, and has taught music courses in the Los Angeles Community College District, including Applied Clarinet and Woodwind Instrument Instruction.

 

As a freelance clarinetist and bass clarinetist, Lori was a founding member of the Avenel Chamber Players and principal clarinetist with the Los Angeles Clarinet Choir. She has performed with numerous orchestras and chamber ensembles across Los Angeles.

 

Since 2022, Lori has been the conductor for TACO Los Angeles, an adult social reading orchestra in Pasadena, CA, inspiring musicians of all levels to connect through music. She also volunteers on the board of LACESMA (Los Angeles City Elementary Schools Music Association), which serves as a voice for LAUSD music educators and supports elementary music students by awarding scholarships for private lessons.
